What Cat Lady - The Card Game is

Cat Lady - The Card Game is a card-drafting game where everyone plays as a Cat Lady trying to tempt cats into her cattery. You collect cats, food, toys and costumes, then combine them into sets that score Victory Points. The game is based on the physical card game published by AEG, adapted here for PC play. Cards you draft form sets, and complete sets carry unique bonuses, so grabbing the right costumes before your opponents do can swing the score. Feeding all the cats in your cattery scores points, and adopting strays earns more. When the deck runs out, the player with the most Victory Points wins.

How a group plays it together

Local multiplayer supports up to 4 people, so a group can sit around one screen and take turns drafting. On each turn you pick up three cards from what is available, which means you are not just building your own cattery but also watching what your opponents are likely to take next. Denying a costume or a cat that would complete someone else's set matters as much as completing your own. Remote Play Together is supported, so friends can join in over a session as well. If the group wants to practise alone, three levels of AI are available to draft against.

Before you start

The rules are quick to pick up: take three cards, build sets, score Victory Points, repeat until the deck is empty. A round runs about 1 to 5 minutes, so it suits a short break or a quick series of matches. Ranked play and a global leaderboard are there if the group wants something to climb, and achievements give extra targets to chase. The card art is hand-drawn and cartoonish, with a tutorial on hand if anyone at the table is new to card drafting.
