Running a carrier, not just an army

Carrier Command 2 is a real-time strategy game built around one big unit: a futuristic carrier loaded with aircraft and amphibious vehicles. You run it like a commander would — operating its systems, launching strikes, and deciding where to push. Intel comes from your vehicles' radars, so you spend time reading the map before you commit to anything. The approach you pick for a situation shapes how the fight goes, which keeps each match from playing out the same way.

There's a second layer on top of the strategy. You can leave the command chair and hop into any vehicle yourself, flying or driving it from a first-person seat. That means the same person can plan an assault and then take the controls when it actually happens.

Playing it as a group

Carrier Command 2 supports online co-op and online PvP. In co-op, your group shares the carrier and splits the work: someone watches the overall plan, others fly or drive, and the loadout choices become a shared decision. The game leans on combined arms, so getting different unit types to support each other matters more than any single vehicle doing all the work. Online PvP puts you and your crew against human opponents, with AI also available as opposition.

Holding the islands you take

Conquering an island is only the start. Once you hold one, you need to work the resources it gives you and keep the supply lines between your islands open, because losing them hurts your survival. That forward planning is a big part of the game — you are managing a chain of territory, not just winning single battles.

Before you start

Expect a mix of slower planning phases and quick hands-on action when you jump into a vehicle. The scale is meant to stay manageable, so you are not tracking an endless unit roster, but there is enough going on to reward talking through decisions with your group. It also runs both in standard mode and in virtual reality, so pick whichever suits your group's setup.
