What Capote is
Capote is a card game set in the corner dive bar where the card table is the center of everything. It takes classic card games, reinvents them, and piles chaos on top. You play for 1 to 6 people, either online against other players or solo against bots. There are three modes, each with its own rules and systems: Capote, Betejack, and Truco. Six characters straight out of the neighborhood bar sit at the table, and there's always one card that can flip everything upside down.
How a group plays it together
In the main Capote mode, you bet how many times you think you'll win, then play your cards to hit that number exactly. Miss the mark in either direction and you take a virtual shot for the mistake. Four shots and you're out. Truco is the classic match, played solo or in pairs, where you trade signals with emotes, play with strategy, and score points to win. Everyone can edit the match rules to customize the game your way before you start.
Bring your friends to an online table for up to 6 and let it run wild, with in-game chat for talking trash. If someone is still in the lobby, you can play a quick round of pool while you wait. YouTube integration lets you play your favorite artists during matches.
What to know before starting
Betejack is the solo mode: build the best combination of powers and face off against Capote's characters in blackjack duels. It's classic blackjack with a roguelike twist. Lose a run and you clear the table and start over, making different choices until you reach Bete herself. Bots are there when you want to practice alone, so you can learn each mode's rules before sitting down with the group.
