What Bounty: Drag Racing is
Bounty: Drag Racing is an online-only drag racing game where you pick a car, tune it, and run it down the strip against other players. The base game includes vehicles for all classes, so you can start anywhere from a bracket car up to a 5 second Dragster. Racing covers track racing, street racing, and sand drag racing, and you decide where you want to begin. The game is in Early Access, so more cars and tracks are added regularly.
Tuning and car setup
The tuning side goes deep. There is an in-depth tuning system with power adder tuning, radial tire suspension tuning, and a true to life staging system. The Live Engine Swap System lets you change the engine while you are at the track, and the engine lineup covers 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, 8 cylinder, 2 rotor, 3 rotor, 4 rotor, and diesel engines. Cars have detailed interiors and engines. Weather changes constantly and affects car performance, so a setup that worked last run may need adjusting before the next one.
Playing with your group
Bounty: Drag Racing is built around Online PvP, so the way to race your friends is to get online and line up against each other. Monthly competitive events give you a shared target to aim for, and the competitive, eSports-leaning side of the game means most of the play happens against other people rather than against AI. Screenshots include user generated content and DLC content, so what you see may not all be in the base game.
Before you start
The game is online-only, so you need a connection to play. It supports controller and is compatible with Logitech, Thrustmaster, and most Fanatec wheels; Moza wheels are currently not compatible. Expect a game that rewards time spent in the tuning menus as much as time spent on the strip, since weather and setup changes decide how close the races get.
