What beaterCore is

beaterCore is an arcade racing game built around cheap rusty beaters instead of specialized sports cars. You buy a car, repair it, restore it and tune it, then take it into racing events and work your way through the career mode. The garage runs in first person: you repair your car by hand, purchase furniture, and stockpile spare parts, because you are going to need them. Tracks change with the times of year, so you can face icy winter conditions or the warm colors of autumn, and your setup has to match.

Playing together

Split screen lets up to four players race on the same screen, and keyboard controls are fully supported. If you want to race friends who are not in the room, online races are there too. Resource management carries over into multiplayer: races affect your cars the same way they do in career mode, so a rough event leaves you with real damage to sort out. That means you can show off a pristine ride or catch friends out with track-specific tuning.

Before you start

Field repairs happen in-between races, and everything can go wrong, so you need to be prepared for it. Your car's trunk is where you store items for a trip, but space is limited, which makes packing a decision rather than an afterthought. Bring the wrong spares and a broken part ends your run; bring too much and you leave room for nothing else. Expect to spend time in the garage between events, not just on the track.
