What Auralux: Constellations is
Auralux: Constellations is a minimalistic real-time strategy game and the sequel to Auralux. You start with a single planet, then upgrade, expand and attack until you have conquered the entire system. The rules stay simple and the whole game is built around that: every choice matters, and the only way to win is through clever strategy. The presentation is deliberately stripped back — vibrant minimalistic graphics, a slow and graceful pace, and ambient music that pulses and beats along with the battle. It's designed as a relaxing, cerebral experience rather than a hectic one.
How it plays through constellations
The game is organized into gameplay constellations, each one introducing a specific variation on the core rules. You explore a dozen new mechanics, one feature at a time, so you always know what has changed and can focus on how it alters your decisions. The variations include things like fog-of-war, moving planets, and wormholes connecting distant parts of the map. Because each constellation plays by its own rules, the game can be replayed to near infinity, with new tactical questions each time.
Playing with friends
For the first time in the series you can play against your friends, both in local and online multiplayer. The same minimalist rules apply to everyone, so matches come down to reading the map, timing your expansion and picking your fights. Remote Play Together is supported, which lets friends join in over a connection rather than needing their own copy.
Before you start
Expect a stripped-down RTS rather than a busy one: few units, few systems, and a deliberate rhythm to how things unfold. The music is tied to the gameplay, so the beats track what is happening on screen. Approach it as a thinking game — slow down, read what each constellation changes, and let the new mechanic guide your plan before you commit.
