What Attic Panic is

Attic Panic is a top-down shooter for 2-4 players where everyone plays as a possessed toy fighting inside a suburban attic. The toys answer to a Lovecraftian creature called the Entity, and the point of each round is to put on a good show for it. Rounds are short and fast: you move, you shoot, you try to survive while everyone else does the same. The setting is a dusty attic full of household clutter, and the whole thing leans into supernatural chaos rather than serious horror.

How a group plays it together

You can bring up to three friends into a match, so a full lobby is four players. Matches are online PvP, which means your group is not cooperating against the game — you are fighting each other. There is no need to split into teams or take turns; everyone is in the same arena at once, shooting for the top.

Between rounds, the Entity hands out upgrade cards. Each round gives you a randomized selection of these cards, and they change how your toy plays. Some cards let you shield yourself from incoming fire, others let bullets bounce off walls, and others push you toward raw destructive power. Because the cards are randomized every round, no two matches build the same way, and the same player can end up with a completely different kit from one round to the next.

What to know before starting

Expect a mix of arcade shooting and roguelite card building. You will be picking upgrades on the fly and adapting to whatever the game deals you, so flexibility matters more than memorizing a fixed build. The action is continuous and top-down, so awareness of the whole arena — walls, cover, and where the other toys are — is what keeps you alive.

Attic Panic is free to play, so your group can jump in without sorting out who buys what. It is tagged as casual and party-oriented, which fits short sessions where the fun comes from the mayhem between friends rather than from a long campaign.
