A rebuilt zombie shooter in VR
Arizona Sunshine® Remake is the original game rebuilt from the ground up with new visuals, high-resolution textures and environmental detail, plus reworked combat and weapons. You play in first person with motion-controlled weapons, physically wielding everything from shotguns to machetes. The setting is a post-apocalyptic southwestern America, the Grand Canyon state, overrun by zombies. A human voice on the radio tells you survivors are out there, so you push through the heat and the hordes looking for them, using whatever ammo and consumables you find along the way. The campaign is built in bite-sized VR chunks that add up to a full story, so you can play a short session or run the whole thing.
Playing it with friends
You can face the undead alone or with up to three fellow survivors, so a group of four can go through it together. Co-op campaign mode lets you and a friend join forces, and multiplayer Horde mode supports up to four players. The store notes that more warm brains mean more hungry undead, so bringing more people along draws more zombies. Combat is physical and hands-on: you grab weapons, aim them yourself, and deal with the upgraded mutilation and gore system as you take down the undead.
What to know before starting
This is a VR game with 6DOF movement and first-person shooting, so you need a VR setup to play. It is a linear action-adventure with dark humor and a dystomatic, atmospheric tone rather than an open world. The Remake is a complete edition that includes all original DLCs and updates: the Dead Man DLC, The Damned DLC, the Old Mine update, the Trailer Park update and the Undead Valley update, along with the Federal Containment Agency Pack containing the Safety-First Ducky Charm, Hazard Handlers and Crisis Command Suit. If you already own Arizona Sunshine® on the same platform and have it installed, you can get the Remake through the upgrade version instead of buying it as a new game.
