What AngerForce: Reloaded is
AngerForce: Reloaded is a vertically scrolling shoot'em up built in the spirit of 90's arcade STG games. The setting is a 19th century human world where a robot rebellion has broken out, and you fight through it with fast-paced, bullet-heavy action. The visuals use an original comic art style: traditional 2D work combined with a free-form deformation technique, which gives the character animation a detailed, almost 3D look while staying flat 2D. There are 7 stages and more than 10 bosses to get through, plus over 20 original music tracks running underneath the shooting.
Playing it with friends
The game has a Local CO-OP mode, so you and a friend can work through the story side by side instead of solo. Remote Play Together is also listed as a supported feature, which gives your group another way to join in on a session. On top of that, there is a real-time leaderboard that puts your scores up against your friends and players worldwide, and an online replay system where you can record a run, share it, and watch what other people pulled off. Between the co-op story run and the score chasing, there is plenty to talk about in a Discord call.
Characters, abilities and runs
You pick from 4 original characters, and each one carries two special abilities and one powerful bomb. Characters gain improvements through a roguelike randomized ability system: dozens of upgrade choices show up, and you mix and match them to shape your own play style. Those choices affect how the rest of the stage plays out, so two runs with the same character can feel quite different. Each character also has their own story to uncover, along with secrets about the enemy legion, so there is a reason to come back with a different pilot after a run ends.
