What Alpha League HD is

Alpha League HD is a free-to-play, hero-based autobattler with roguelike elements. You pick a hero and build them up across a match using 12 different combat genres, so each run can go in a different direction. Matches take place on randomized maps, and there are more than 10 different maps that ask for different strategies. Drafting and artifacts are part of the build process, and you can adjust your approach based on what the map and your options give you. The goal of each match is simple: come out as the final winner.

Playing with your group

Each match puts you against the other 7 bots or players, so a full lobby is eight competitors. Online PvP is supported, which means your group can face off against each other directly rather than only playing alongside bots. Since builds are randomized run to run, two players starting from the same hero can end up with very different skill sets and artifacts by the end. Fighting with friends is one of the ways to get the best artifacts, so coordinating or clashing over picks is part of the fun.

Before you start

The game leans on autobattler and card battler mechanics, with turn-based tactics and strategy RPG elements layered in. Expect to make decisions about which combat genres to invest in and which artifacts to chase, then let the auto battler resolve the fights. The 3D, colorful presentation keeps things readable, but the depth comes from adapting your build to the map you land on. Since it is free to play, you can jump in and learn the systems without a commitment. The studio behind it, Beaveroid, is a small team founded in 2022 with 6 members, and they have said they will keep supporting the game as long as the community stays involved.
