What Albert Innovation is

Albert Innovation is a first-person, singleplayer semi-horror game set inside the deserted premises of a once-brilliant technology company. You arrive for a job that nobody shows up to greet you for, and you end up searching for the missing boss, Albert Thompson, on your own. The path is linear, so the game pushes you forward through the facility rather than leaving you to wander an open map. Along the way you interact with special devices built by the former engineers, manipulate machines, and uncover what the company did in the past. There is a threat sharing the building with you, so running away is a normal part of getting through an area rather than a failure state.

Playing it with friends

The game is built as a singleplayer experience, so one person holds the controls and moves through the facility while the rest of the group watches. Remote Play Together lets friends join that session from their own machines, which suits this kind of game well: one player handles the devices, the doors, and the escapes, while everyone else reacts to the atmosphere and the mystery as it unfolds. It works as a shared watch-through rather than a co-op run where each person has their own character.

Before you start

The visuals are hand-drawn monochrome 3D, giving the whole place a dark, cartoony look that is distinct from realistic horror games. The audio was composed by Virgil Marrel and carries a lot of the mood, so playing with sound on matters. Expect a linear, cinematic structure with an emphasis on atmosphere and story over combat or open exploration. Note that this is the demo version of Albert Innovation; the full game is planned as a paid release later.
