What A-Gents is
A-Gents puts you in the boots of a squad of trained operatives and bounty hunters. You take Sean and Emma into compounds run by contraband dealers and smugglers spread across the globe, shoot your way through the defenders, and grab the goodies left behind. The action is continuous: twin-stick aiming, dense bullet patterns, and pixel-art levels with a retro military feel. It plays like a classic shoot 'em up with a modern pace, so expect to be moving, dodging and firing almost the whole time rather than stopping to plan.
Playing it as a group
The game supports local co-op for two players, so you can sit on the same screen and split the work: one of you covers a direction while the other pushes forward, or you both focus fire on whatever is filling the room with bullets. There are various playable characters to choose from, which lets the two of you pick different roles and weapons rather than running identical loadouts. Remote Play Together is available, so a friend can join your session from their own machine even though the co-op is built around a shared screen. Between the standard firefights there are special missions where you control and protect vehicles, which breaks up the on-foot shooting with a different kind of objective.
Before you start
The game launched with two episodes, and six are planned in total through updates, with no extra purchase needed for the later ones. That means the content you have on day one is a portion of the finished set, so if you and your group want the full run of missions, expect to come back as the episodes land. The developers are openly collecting feedback and suggestions and say they will factor it into improvements, so rough edges may shift over time. The core loop is straightforward: pick your characters, pick your weapons from the numerous types on offer, and get through the compounds. Bring a second player if you can, since the co-op is the natural way to handle the bullet-heavy encounters.
