A three-day war on a giant grid
3 Days War is a real-time strategy game that mixes RTS and 4X mechanics. Battles, construction, expansion and development all happen live on a grid-based map made of more than 10,000 grids, so dozens of players share one large battlefield and act at the same time instead of taking turns. The setting is 2069 onward: humanity found a high-energy mineral called the Black Stone, countries fought over it, and the First Black Stone War broke out in 2085. Five years in, the Core-Gear appeared, a giant war machine powered by Black Stone, and the world split into three factions: the Black Eagle Union, the White Bear Front, and the neutral Suzaku Covenant in the East. Peace never really arrived, and the crisis continues.
Playing together with your group
Your group can team up in the game's modes. Evacuation mode puts 16 players into a three-day grand strategic confrontation, where you find a teammate, take the commander role and try to lead everyone to victory. Alliance mode divides 18 players into three factions for a five-day confrontation built around cooperation and alliances rather than simply wiping out opponents. There is also Adventure mode, which follows the plot and teaches the basic rules before you go deeper into the world. Steam lists both online co-op and online PvP, so you can play alongside friends or against them.
Building an empire and commanding mechas
As your empire grows you regularly pick "pondering cards" from random three-choice options. Over dozens of these selections you assemble your own combination of strategic cards, which gives each run a roguelite flavour. Dozens of distinct heroes pilot Core-Gear mechas across the battlefield, and using their active strategic skills at the right moment can decide a fight. The three camps play differently: White Bear Front leans on heavy industry and heavy machinery with bomb and electromagnetic weapons, including the K-47 Aviation Fortress, the only weapon in the game that can strike hard from the air. Black Eagle Union fields modern high-tech troops with optical weapons, and its Rhino Heavy Tank is the toughest tank in the game, with an energy shield for frontline work. The Vermilion Phoenix Alliance Force blends classical and Eastern mystical style into its tech tree, and is still in design and production.
