A co-op open world witch adventure
Witchspire drops you and your friends into a hand-crafted world where you have been chosen to stop corruption from spreading. You grow your powers, roam a vast map, and form bonds with the creatures you meet along the way. It plays as an action RPG with survival and building woven in: you gather resources, craft gear, manage your inventory, and fight through PvE encounters. The world is colorful but the combat is tagged as difficult, so expect real fights rather than a gentle stroll. Corruption spreads beneath the surface, ancient creatures roam the land, and meteors can fall on you, so staying alert matters as much as swinging a weapon.
Playing together as a coven
You can play alone or with friends through online co-op, building a shared sanctuary as a coven. Everyone brings something different to the group: a branching tech tree, player levelling, and varied crafting options mean each witch can specialise instead of doing the same job. Pick a coven at the start and you get unique outfits and abilities, from the brave Cloudpiercers to the mystical Foretellers, which gives the party room to cover different roles. Building is handled with astral projection, which untethers you from gravity so you can move freely while placing a home that suits your coven's needs. Combat and creature-collecting work the same way in co-op as solo, so the group can split tasks, hunt familiars together, and pool what they gather.
What to know before you start
Witchspire is in Early Access, which means the game is still being developed and things can change as the roadmap progresses. Some content is tied to Early Access, including bonus home decorations such as an ornate lamp, a Traxio carpet, a wooden couch, and two cushions. Survival here is lighter than in typical survival games: you will not starve, but resources still help you replenish and bolster your power. Magic is your main tool for the mundane work too, with spells to call forth forests when timber runs low, spirit jump up ledges, blink out of attacks, and send magical pickaxes to harvest resources. Creatures are worth the effort — defeat them in battle, collect their spirits, and build long-term bonds that guide their growth to match your play style. Controller support is listed, so you can pick whichever input suits you.
