A dark-fantasy RPG where you become the monster

Vampire's Fall 2 is a handcrafted 2D open world set two centuries after the events of Vampire's Fall: Origins. Vampires rule, humans live as slaves and food for an aristocratic elite, and a civil war between the two races has left the world broken. You take the vampire curse early in your journey, and it reshapes how you play: new abilities open up and grow stronger as you level. Towns, wilderness and enemies all live in one seamless map with no loading screens, and enemies move visibly through the world so you can pick your fights. Battles happen right there in the world and run on a turn-based system where attacks, abilities and HP or FP potions all spend a turn, so every decision costs you something.

Playing it with friends

The main draw for a group is PvP: you can test your build and tactics against other players whenever you're ready, which gives your group a reason to compare characters and builds. Cross-platform multiplayer covers PC, Android and iOS, so people in your group can play from different devices and still meet up. An integrated chat sits inside the UI, so you can talk without leaving the game. Outside of PvP, the game is a PvE experience — you explore, quest and fight through the world on your own character rather than sharing a session.

Build depth and things to know before starting

Progression is built around choices. Each level grants randomized bonuses, so you decide whether to lean into defense, damage or a balance of both. There are four skill trees — Anger, Control, Vitality and Deceit — and nine weapon types from maces to katanas, each with its own advantages. Loot comes from quests, enemies and treasure found in the wild, and every piece of gear changes how your character looks as well as their stats.

The game is free to play with optional in-app purchases and no paywalls, and the developers state plainly that it does contain some pay-to-win elements. The PC version has no ads, higher resolution textures and audio, and a UI and controller support adapted for play on PC. Expect a slow, deliberate pace: turn-based combat rewards planning and resource management over reflexes, and the world is meant to be explored rather than rushed.
