Running your own tavern

Travellers Rest puts you behind the bar of a fantasy tavern you own and grow. You expand the building, fill it with furniture and decorative pieces you craft yourself, and use all of that to build your reputation. Customers keep coming in, so the loop is simple and constant: serve drinks and food, earn gold, spend it on better stock and a nicer place. You can also kick out a customer who starts bothering the others, which matters when the room gets busy. Recipes are discovered as you play, and the dishes and drinks you make come from ingredients you gather, buy or produce yourself.

Farming, crafting and exploring

The tavern does not run on its own. You farm for raw materials, craft hundreds of items and pieces of furniture, and manage your inventory so the kitchen and the bar stay stocked. When you need a break, the realm is there to walk through: it is full of colorful characters and things to do, and trips away from the tavern tend to turn up something useful for it. The game is played from an isometric view with pixel graphics, and it leans toward slow, steady management rather than fast action.

Playing with friends

Travellers Rest supports online co-op for up to 4 players, plus Remote Play Together. Your group can split up: some head out to explore the realm together, while others stay behind and work the tavern. There is no wage bill for the friends you put to work, so everyone can pitch in however they like. It works well as a shared project where one person farms, another cooks, and someone else keeps the customers served.

Before you start

The game is in Early Access, so content and systems can change while you play. It is listed as singleplayer too, so you can run the whole place solo if your group is not around. Expect the core work to be repetitive by design: tending customers, restocking, and expanding the tavern a piece at a time.
