Racing the 2024 Tour de France
Tour de France 2024 is the official game of the 2024 Tour de France, built by Cyanide Studio. It covers the 2024 route and puts you in the peloton as a rider or as the person running the team. Alongside the Tour itself you get My Tour, Pro Team and Pro Leader modes, plus the new Criterium multiplayer mode. The racing mixes timing and positioning with team tactics: you decide when to spend energy, when to sit in the wheels and when to send teammates up the road as relays in the mountains. Falls happen, and how long a rider spends on the ground depends on how serious the crash is.
Playing together in Criterium
Criterium is the multiplayer mode, running online games for up to 6 players. Each player builds a team of 2 riders picked from over 900 professional cyclists and chooses a jersey that sets them apart. Rider characteristics are randomly set at the start so everyone has the same chance, and from there it is down to your tactics on the day. The stage decides the approach: on the Col du Galibier you can run a mountain team or a sprint team, so pick your setup to match the course. Where you finish decides how many points you earn, and better results push you toward race victories that unlock legendary riders. Criterium runs weekly, with new professional riders and World Tour team jerseys becoming available to modify your team. Remote Play Together is also supported.
Building your own race and team
My Tour lets you assemble a cycle race from the stages in the game and set the rules yourself, using the Tour de France rules or the Paris-Nice and Critérium du Dauphiné rules to make each Tour different. In Pro Team and Pro Leader you take charge of a professional peloton team, or create your own: start from the ground up or sign the best riders in the peloton, and choose to play as the team at the top of the UCI rankings or a fictitious one. Beyond the World Tour teams, 15 Pro Tour teams and their riders are playable, including Burgos-BH, Kern Pharma, Euskatel-Euskadi, Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team and Team Novo Nordisk, across My Tour, Pro Team and Pro Leader.
Before you start
The AI has been revised for mountain and intermediate sprint stages, so expect those stages to play differently from flat days. Controller vibrations come in on dirt roads, which is worth knowing if you ride with a pad. Accessibility options for people with disabilities are included. Plan for the terrain rather than one fixed approach, since the same stage can suit a mountain team or a sprint team depending on how you set up.
