A Touhou take on Monopoly
Touhou Ibunseki - Ayaria Dawn: ReCreation is a board game built around the Monopoly formula, with more than 20 characters drawn from TH.6 through TH.11 and more than 10 official maps to play on. Each character comes with their own skills and voice, and original boss characters are waiting as well. The story sets the tone: a mysterious crystal fell into Gensoukyou, and Reimu solves her problems through real estate business rather than danmaku.
What sets it apart from classic Monopoly
The game runs on two resources, money and crystal, instead of a single currency. Dice throwing costs SP, so you spend a resource to move rather than simply rolling. Electric dispatching gives you another way to direct your play, and the weather system affects your movement in a big way, so reading the forecast matters as much as reading the board. You can also fight whoever stands in your way, which either earns you a reward or sends you to the hospital.
Making it your own
The custom level editor lets you build your own Monopoly board. The store text notes that uploading custom maps to the workshop is planned for coming updates, along with online multiplayer. The game is in Early Access, so expect parts of the experience to still be taking shape. An English version is available.
