Science versus the occult
You are Nikola Tesla, inventor and genius, and your laboratory has just burned down. H.P. Lovecraft did it, armed with an occult book and an army of monsters, and he has made off with your inventions. Fight back through top-down twin stick arenas, mowing down the nightmares with your twin-mounted Tesla-Miniguns. Collect the rest of your stolen gadgets as you go, including the X-Ray Blade and the Death Ray Gun. When the odds get bad, climb into the Tesla-Mech, a powerful machine of war that tramples monsters flat, and the Quantum Teleportation backpack gets you out of a tight spot.
Playing with friends
The game supports local co-op, so you can share a screen and shoot through the arenas side by side. Remote Play Together is also listed as a Steam feature, which lets people join in over a connection. Either way, the whole group works through the same top-down levels, dealing with the monster hordes as a unit.
Before you start
Expect a fast twin stick shooter: one stick moves, the other aims, and the screen fills with enemies. The tone is sci-fi meets Lovecraftian horror, with monsters described as bad enough to eat your sanity. The RPG side shows up in how your inventions and gadgets build on each other over a run. The game comes from 10tons Ltd, the studio behind Crimsonland and Neon Chrome, so the arena shooter lineage is right there in the DNA.
