What SpyHunt is

SpyHunt is a multiplayer game for up to 8 players where one side hides and the other side hunts. The Detective watches the crowd, reads behavior, and tries to pick out the players who are not what they seem. The Spies blend in as ordinary citizens, carry out secret tasks, and try to finish without being identified. The match ends up as a game of attention: the Detective is looking for small tells, and the Spies are trying to give none. Each map brings its own atmosphere, its own characters, and its own set of tasks, so the same trick rarely works twice in a row.

Playing it with your group

You can pick your role before a match or let the game assign it randomly, which keeps things unpredictable when everyone queues together. Matches scale to your group size: 1v1, 2v2, 3v1, 5v1, or a full lobby of up to 8 players with as many as 2 Detectives. That means a small group can run tight duels where every glance matters, while a bigger group turns into a crowd of suspects with one or two people trying to read all of them. Since the game supports online co-op and online PvP, you can play against each other or team up depending on how the roles land.

Before you start

There are 6 maps available, each with a different feel, different characters, and different task styles. Expect to learn the tasks on a map before you can run them smoothly, and expect the Detective's job to change from map to map since the environment and the people in it are different each time. The world is populated with NPCs, so the players you need to spot are mixed into a living crowd rather than standing out on an empty field. Plan for short, fast rounds where the outcome turns on observation and restraint: Spies win by staying ordinary, Detectives win by noticing who is trying too hard to look ordinary.
