What Spellwake is
Spellwake is an online 3D Action RPG set in a world invaded by an overpowering planar force. You play as a renegade who takes up arms to kill as many invaders as possible. The core loop is fast-paced hack n' slash against hordes of monsters and powerful bosses. The game is free to play and nothing is locked behind a paywall.
Playing with your group
Spellwake is built for full multiplayer with no account creation required. You just start the game and play with your friends. Everyone works together in the open world, and no areas are restricted, so you can explore and fight as a group without running into barriers. Scripted raid bosses give you a shared target to tackle as a team.
Things to know before starting
The class system has few restrictions, letting you combine any classes to make creative and original builds. The developers want all builds to be viable and fun. There is no PvP outside a designated area, so the rest of the world is cooperative. The Unleash system makes any area able to become maximum level for endless replayability, and areas and monsters are randomly generated. You will find magic items, unique items, currency items, and a crafting system. The game was made by a pair of independent programmers without a 3D artist, so the graphics are lacking, but they hope the gameplay is a lot of fun.
