A calm survival game set among floating islands

Solarpunk drops you into a technologically advanced world of islands that drift in the sky. You gather resources, plant and harvest crops, craft gadgets, and build up your own stretch of land. Progression is meant to be slow and unhurried, with no raids, no base attacks, and no PvP anywhere in the game. There is no story campaign and no narrative quest line either, so the goals come from what you decide to do with your island. The world itself is handcrafted rather than randomly generated, and it currently has two biomes. Main content takes around 20 hours to explore, after which you keep playing for your base, farm, decoration, and whatever personal goals you set.

Playing together as a group

You can play solo or with friends, up to 4 players in total. One player hosts the session, since there are no public servers, and there is no crossplay. Everyone has their own inventory, so you can split up the work: some people gather and farm while others build, or you can each claim your own corner of the sky. Building together on a shared home base works just as well as spreading out. When you want to go looking for new resources, each player can build their own airship and fly to surrounding islands. Cooperation stays relaxed throughout, since there is nothing competitive in the game.

Base building, energy, and farming

Building and decorating are the heart of the experience. You pick from a wide range of materials and decorations to design a home base, down to small details that make the place feel lived in. Power comes from wind and solar energy, and weather affects how much you produce, so it pays to plan ahead. Store what you make in batteries and spread it wirelessly to keep everything running. Transport drones can take over repetitive gathering, which frees you up to build and explore. Farming supplies your food: plant seeds, wait for them to mature, and harvest. Animals live alongside you rather than being used, and happy pigs will dig up truffles on their own.

What to know before starting

This is a focused indie game from a very small core team, built for a cozy experience rather than AAA scale. The character editor is simple, combat is not deep, and there is no dedicated server infrastructure. If you are looking for competitive multiplayer, an endless open world, or a story to follow, this will not scratch that itch. The long-term appeal comes from sandbox play: your base, your farm, decoration, and the goals you invent once the main progression is done. Expect a session where the group plans an energy setup, plants a field, decorates a house, and then takes the airships out to see what is on the next island.
