What Skeletal Avenger is

Skeletal Avenger is a top-down roguelite dungeon crawler from 10tons Ltd. You play a skeletal warrior out for vengeance, hacking and slashing through the underworld with weapons that each have their own moveset. Runs are built on procedural generation mixed with hand-made levels, so the layout and the challenges change each descent. Between runs you keep pushing forward: over 50 perks and trinkets let you shape a different build every time, and gear bought with coin makes your skeleton hit harder. The game has perma death, so a run that goes badly ends there and you start again with a fresh plan.

Playing it with friends

Skeletal Avenger supports 2-4 player local co-op, so a group can carve through the dungeon together on one screen. It also carries the Remote Play Together feature, which lets people join over a network as if they were sitting on the same couch. Each player picks a skeleton, and every skeleton has its own set of skills plus a perk to choose from, so the party can split roles rather than all playing the same way. Co-op runs still follow the same loop: descend, gather loot, buy upgrades, and try to reach the end.

Things worth knowing before you start

The signature trick is decapitating yourself: you throw your skull to trigger a special attack, and the effect depends on which hat you are wearing. That means swapping hats changes what your head-toss does, so it pays to check your gear before a tough room. Combat is fast and responsive, and you will face over a dozen enemies with distinct behaviors across four biomes: Dungeons, Sewers, Dark Caverns, and the Sorcerer's Castle.

Expect to die and rerun. The game is built around repeat attempts, with NG+ mode offering an endless supply of quests and Arena Challenges to test how far your build can go. The tone is dark humor rather than genuine horror, and controller support is listed, so a pad is a comfortable way to play.
