What RuneScape: Dragonwilds is
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is a survival crafting RPG set on Ashenfall, a forgotten continent in the RuneScape world where dragons have woken up. You gather resources, build a base, level skills, craft gear and potions, and take on quests across a hand-crafted open world. Skills feed into RPG progression: each one you push up unlocks unique abilities and spells, so raising a skill is worth doing beyond the raw materials it gives you. The land is Anima-rich, and wild magic spills from the fractured regions, which is where your stranger powers come from — summon a spectral axe to drop trees instantly, blink away from danger, explode ore veins with a snap, turn bones into peaches, or conjure a tornado of fish out of a lake.
Playing it with your group
Online co-op is supported, so your group can explore Ashenfall together rather than each grinding alone. Splitting the work suits this kind of game: some people gather and build while others push skills, prepare potions and craft gear, then you meet up to push into tougher ground. You can also run it solo if the group is not around. The world is full of things to go after together — Zogres, Black Knights, and the new Garou — and the trail of destruction the dragons leave is what you follow as a group to work out how to fight back. The developers say community shapes the game: the roadmap is built from player feedback, which already brought dedicated servers, new combat and new quest content.
Before you start
This is Early Access, so content and systems can change as development continues. Progress sits under constant pressure from the dragons overhead, so expect to keep preparing rather than treating base building as a one-time job. The goal you are working toward is the Dragon Queen, and reaching her means mastering survival and uncovering the continent's secrets first. The soundtrack mixes reorchestrated RuneScape classics with new music, which matters if you are coming in for the lore as much as the survival loop.
