Two factions with very different tools
Red Chaos is a top-down real-time strategy game where you build a base, manage resources and command armies. The Iron Hand brings advanced technology, a strong air force, heavy tanks like the Titan, and defensive structures to hold ground when an assault fails. The Resistance works with deception and unconventional tactics instead: the Flying Rhino is a flying bus that drops high-explosive barrels, and the Tube is an underground tunnel system for moving quickly between locations, alongside modified vehicles built for mobility and surprise attacks. The two sides play completely differently, so picking a faction changes how you approach a match. Battles are meant to be large-scale, with armies clashing, and you can go for a big fortified base or a fast strike to outmaneuver the other player. Upgrades, special abilities and superweapons are available on top of the standard build-and-fight loop.
Playing together and against each other
The game supports online co-op and online PvP, so your group can either team up or face each other. Multiplayer is a core part of the package, with matches against friends and strangers, plus ranked play with a leaderboard if your group wants something to climb. Skirmish mode is highly customizable: four difficulty levels, adjustable AI behavior, and the option to make the AI aggressive or defensive or restrict it to specific unit types such as air-only battles. That makes it easy to set up a match that suits whoever is in the lobby, whether you want a relaxed game against a passive opponent or a tight fight under odd rules.
Before you start
A short tutorial covers the controls, and a set of missions unlocks new buildings and units step by step while giving you objectives to work through. It is worth doing these first, since the missions introduce the pieces you will need in multiplayer. The game is in Early Access, so expect it to still be in development. The setting follows a devastating world war that left the Untainted Garden, or Green Land, untouched; refugees who fled there were betrayed by the politicians who built the Iron Hand regime, and the Resistance formed to overthrow it. That background explains the asymmetry between a well-supplied regime and a resource-limited rebellion fighting with cunning rather than raw power.
