A Two-Hero Castle Crawl
Pampas & Selene: The Maze of Demons is an 8-bit style action platformer set in the ruined Castle Mogdoss. You take on the roles of Pampas and Selene, the children of two heroes who defeated the Dark Priest decades earlier. Now a new evil has risen, and it falls to them to end the threat. When playing alone, you control both heroes and swap between them to handle different challenges. The castle holds over 200 rooms to explore, filled with hidden secrets, and the layout is broken into 10 distinct evil realms, each with its own hazards.
Playing Together
You can team up with a friend locally or online for the co-op campaign. Both players explore the castle freely, and you can see your partner's point of view at any time. If you get separated, you can teleport to each other whenever you need to regroup. This makes it easy to split up to cover more ground or stick together for tough fights.
Tools for the Fight
The gods of Greece can help you along the way. You'll find sacred shrines where you can talk to them, take on their quests, and earn powerful artifacts in return. Combat has extra depth through the Soul Gem, which lets you capture the souls of enemies you defeat. You can then channel those souls to unleash special attacks. There are over 40 items to collect, so you can build a loadout that fits how you like to play. Runes scattered through the realms let you summon and take on formidable demons.
Before You Start
The game leans into its retro roots with pixel graphics and a choice of two soundtracks: a modern score or a classic 8-bit version. If you're into speedrunning, there's a dedicated Speedrun Mode with in-game timers to track your best runs. The game also includes Twitch crowd control features, letting viewers affect the action during streams. If you own certain other titles from the same creator, you can unlock alternate character skins.
