Build an empire from one settlement
Oriental Empires is a turn based 4X strategy game set in ancient China. You start with a single settlement and work outward: develop your land, construct buildings, and build markets and ports to trade by land and water. Research runs through an elaborate tree covering technology, culture, philosophy, and religion. As emperor you set edicts, laws, and decrees to balance power and move into new Eras that bring fresh technologies and military units. Leaders, sieges, unrest and rebellion, and your Authority and Culture ratings all shape the outcome.
Fight battles on the map
When your turn ends, your armies carry out the orders and formations you set. Battles play out right on the game map with hundreds or thousands of soldiers, using fully animated 3D models of infantry, cavalry, chariot, artillery, and naval forces. The long zoom range lets you drop down to watch individual troops and peasants working, or pull back for a strategic view of the mountains, forests, plains, and deserts of China and Mongolia.
Play with friends
Multiplayer supports up to 15 players, and you can conquer together or betray your allies. There are 24 factions to choose from, each with its own special bonuses or penalties. Your goal is to become the universally recognized Son of Heaven and ruler of the world, which you can push for through military force or diplomatic persuasion.
