What MotoGP™20 is
MotoGP™20 is a bike racing game built around the official 2020 season, covering MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders and tracks, including the new Kymi Ring in Finland. Alongside the season content there is a Historic Riders mode where you can race with 46 historic riders and 43 different bikes, including names like Mick Doohan, Wayne Rainey, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa.
The riding itself leans toward simulation. Physics are more realistic, and you have to watch tire wear and the braking system over a race rather than just holding the throttle. The upgraded neural AI riders learn from what you do and react to it, so races stay competitive.
Racing together as a group
Online play runs on dedicated servers, and there are three ways to set up a session with friends. Public Lobby lets you build a customizable event with your own lap count, weather conditions and sessions, or browse the list of open lobbies and join one. Private Lobby is for creating a custom event and inviting your friends directly. Race Director, also called Pro Lobby, puts one player in charge of the race: they pick the starting grid, assign penalties and direct the event.
Building your rider and bike
The Managerial Career mode gives you a choice at the start: join a 2020 season team and race alongside the official riders, or start with a brand new team on your manager's advice. Either way you have a full entourage supporting you.
Bike development happens through career tests where you adjust specific technical areas: electronic traction control, engine brake, anti-wheelie system, power mapping, engine, frame and aerodynamics. Those changes feed back into how the bike behaves, so plan your setup before a weekend.
Customizing how you look
Five graphics editors cover your appearance and machine: stickers, helmet, racing number, name on the suit, and livery, where you pick the sponsor, colors and materials for the bike. Everything you set up carries into races, so your group will recognize you on the grid.
Worth knowing before you start: the game emphasizes realistic physics and tire management, so expect a learning curve if you are used to arcade racers. The career mode is the long-form singleplayer path, while online lobbies are where your group meets up.
