A run-and-gun classic with branching stages
METAL SLUG 3 is a 2D side-scrolling shooter from SNK, built around run-and-gun action, detailed pixel art, and simple controls. The main Arcade Mode takes you through 5 large stages filled with heavy enemy fire and large boss characters. Each stage has multiple branching paths, so you can head into different areas and see new sections of the map. The game also carries the series' comedic tone alongside its action.
Playing together with friends
The game supports Online Co-op through Steam, so you can clear missions with friends who are far away. Mission Mode lets you pick stages you have already unlocked and play them again, either alone or with a partner. Remote Play Together is also available, which lets someone join in through Steam's streaming feature. Alongside co-op play, there is a leaderboard where you can check your rank and score against other players.
Before you start
Arcade Mode runs the game from the beginning, so it is the straightforward way to work through all 5 stages and their branching routes. Mission Mode is better for replaying specific stages or practicing a section with a partner. You can adjust display, control, and language settings before playing, and a gallery holds original illustrations that unlock as you play. Note that this game will not run on Windows XP.
