Break the House, Get the Attention
Messy Up puts you in the paws of cats and dogs who are tired of being ignored. Their owner is too busy with work to play, so the pets decide to wreck the place until they get noticed. You pick a pet, each with its own abilities, and set about dismantling the home. Fans, soccer balls, doors, takeout food—anything lying around becomes a tool for destruction. The action plays out from a top-down view in a cartoony 3D style.
Play Together or Against Each Other
Up to three players can cooperate in tearing the house apart, or one player can take the owner's side. As the owner, you defend the furniture and lock up the mischievous pets. When a pet companion gets caught, the others can come to rescue them. The game supports online co-op and online PvP, so your group can pick a side and go at it. Remote Play Together is also available for playing with friends who do not own the game.
More Than Just Wrecking
Beyond the main storyline missions, there are other gameplay modes to try. The home construction mode lets you build your own pet home through DIY. Along the way you can collect photos, qualifications, trophies, keychains, and other rewards. Pets come with distinct personalities that you can customize freely. The settings range from a house to the beach, an office, and a castle.
Before You Start
The developers note that the game supports Steam Remote Play, but if the lag delay is severe, they recommend using third-party software online such as Parsec. The game is tagged as family friendly and casual, so it works for a relaxed session with friends.
