What Lycans is
Lycans is a multiplayer game for up to 12 players where werewolves hide among a group of villagers. The match runs through a day and night cycle: during the day you investigate to work out who the werewolves are, and at night you hide and try to survive their attacks. The island is where you do most of your work — you explore and search it to gather resources that help the villagers hold out before everyone gets killed. It's a first-person game with a dark, atmospheric tone, built around player interaction rather than scripted events.
How a group plays it together
Proximity voice chat is integrated and mandatory — you can't play without it, so talking is the core mechanic. Every morning the players gather to vote and eliminate a potential werewolf, which means your arguments, accusations and bluffing carry as much weight as anything you find. Villagers need to cooperate to search the island, pool what they've uncovered and agree on who to remove, while the werewolves work from inside that conversation to stay off the list. Between the votes and the night attacks, the group is constantly reading each other.
Before you start
The game is recommended with at least 5 players, so round up your group before queueing rather than jumping in short-handed. Make sure everyone has a working microphone, since proximity voice chat is required to play at all. Expect a tactical, survival-horror round where information is scarce and trust is the resource you're really managing — you'll spend as much time deciding who to believe as you will searching the island.
