A real-time strategy game of nuclear destruction
ICBM puts you in charge of one of the world's continents and asks you to prepare for global nuclear conflict. Your job is to research and develop your nuclear arsenal, then strike at the heart of your opponents' cities while doing everything in your power to prevent enemy retaliation against your own citizens. The game gives you 20 unit types, 12 nuclear weapon types and 44 technologies to explore. You can choose between researching new technologies or mass producing existing ones, and a balanced force is what lets you deal with a multitude of enemy tactics. Ships, planes and missiles all have their role: overwhelm with intercontinental ballistic missiles, deliver massive payloads with bombers, or launch from submarines in the least expected locations.
Playing together with your group
ICBM supports online co-op and online PvP, with matches for up to seven other players. You can play free for all, fixed teams or co-op games, and ELO scores track your climb up the leaderboard. Diplomacy is part of the game: share information, technologies or even the location of your nukes with allies to wage war against common enemies, knowing those alliances do not have to last. The strike planner reduces micro-management by letting you set up detailed plans in advance, targeting specific structures, units and cities, then synchronise your launches to overwhelm enemy defences. Game speed is adjustable at any time, so your group can slow things down for careful planning or speed them up for a swift nuclear war.
Things to know before starting
Contamination speed is a setting you control: increase it for a swift and painless nuclear war, or slow it down for an endless nightmare. The game includes full modding support out of the box, so you can add or change maps, units, technologies, rules and graphics. A Night Mode is also available.
