A text-based idle game about cultivating immortality

《墨仙箓》is a text-based idle game built around a cultivation setting. You click a map location and your character starts training on its own, so progress keeps piling up while you are busy with work or study. Along the way random events can pop up and shift how your path plays out. The presentation is deliberately plain — words on a screen — but the systems underneath are fairly deep, with over 300 pieces of equipment that can each be refined, strengthened, combined and traded, so no two items end up identical. Combat is turn-based and leans on your character's attributes and skills together, simple to read but with room for planning. There are also random tasks, achievements, leaderboards, boss encounters and free trading to dig into.

Playing with your friends

This is a multiplayer online game, and the whole point of it is meeting other players. You can team up with fellow cultivators to push into secret realms together, trade resources with each other, and spar to test your builds. Players can create their own sect or join an existing one, work on developing it, and take part in sect wars as a group. Between fights there is chat, which is where the coordination happens — talking through who does what and which strategy to run before a battle is a normal part of the loop. The developers built the game with the intention that players would chat, cooperate and figure out better tactics together rather than just grind alone.

What to know before you start

The game requires a constant internet connection throughout, since it is a multiplayer online title. Keep chat civil when you talk with other players. It is free to play, and the two developers who made it work on it in their spare time, so updates and optimizations arrive on an irregular schedule — they say they will keep improving the experience and adding new ways to play. Expect rough edges: this is their first game, made by two friends with no prior design background, and they openly ask for patience with its issues while they keep refining it.
