A sci-fi survival shooter in a deep forest
EXOME is a third-person shooter set in an open, non-linear world built in Unreal Engine 5. You are sent to find a research team that has gone silent, and the deep forest holds the answer. Expect swarms of aliens, unpredictable predators, and a dark corruption that spreads through the area. The tone leans toward survival horror with a heavy focus on atmosphere and lore, and the game is marked as difficult. Every bullet counts, so careful positioning and resource management matter as much as aim.
Playing with your group
The game is fully cooperative for up to 4 players, and you can also play it solo. A horde AI system drives the enemy waves, and dynamic difficulty scaling adjusts the challenge as your group performs. Together you explore the forest, fight through the swarms, and piece together what happened to the missing team. Since the world is non-linear, you can choose your own route and decide how much of the map to uncover before pushing forward.
Before you start
Weapon and equipment progression is central to survival: you find schematics, purchase gear, and upgrade your loadout to stand a chance against the endless waves. Character customization is available so each player can set up their own look. The game is in Early Access, so expect it to change over time, and it has partial controller support. In-game feedback and bug reporting tools are built in, which is worth knowing if you run into issues during a session.
