Build a racing stable from scratch
Derby's Tycoon Online puts you in charge of a horse racing operation. You buy horses, train them, and enter them in regular races that run every five minutes. Each horse has its own traits, so you pick the races that suit them and work on raising their abilities over time. Breeding is the long game: pair horses to produce the next generation, build up your own bloodline, and push past the limits of any single animal. Between races you spend your prize money on property — apartments and standalone houses spread across the map, each standalone home unique with its own address. House prices move with demand, so property works as an investment alongside your stable.
Racing and race strategy
Before each race you set a riding strategy for your horse. You can send it out front and hold the lead, build speed gradually through the race, or sit back and save everything for a final sprint. The race itself plays out in a 3D simulation of the track, and the live commentary is delivered in Cantonese, which is part of how the series has always presented its races. Races are score attack style events, so the results come down to how well your strategy matches the horse you've entered.
Playing with friends
You can form a club with other horse owners and enter horses together, helping each other with training along the way. The game is built as a shared online world, with both cooperative and competitive play — you race against other players as well as working alongside them. Housing adds another social layer: you can hand out keys to friends so they can come and visit your home and see how you've decorated it. Beyond the stable, you can buy luxury cars and furnish your villa or mansion, so the tycoon side of the game runs alongside the racing.
