Farming under pressure
Cryptid Farm is a top-down horror farming game where you plant, water, and harvest crops to earn money. The routine is simple: plant seeds, water them, harvest when ready, and refill your watering can at the corners of the field. There are 8 different crops to grow, each with its own look and attributes. As you play, you unlock upgrades that let you manage larger patches of land. The goal is to build up enough funds to repair your tractor and escape the farm.
Playing with a group
The game supports online co-op for up to 16 players in a single lobby, and it can also be played solo. Everyone shares one farm space, so you work together on the same land. You can cooperate to grow produce and pool funds toward the escape, or work against each other if that suits your group. The game uses Photon Networking and the Photon Cloud for its server system.
Staying alive
The farm is visited by a variety of dangerous creatures, each hunting in a unique way. You need to pay attention to their behaviors and pick up on cues to survive. The farm also has unpredictable events that can catch even careful players off guard, so staying alert matters as much as knowing the patterns. The hand-drawn 2D art style keeps things readable from the top-down view, which helps when you are tracking both your crops and whatever is moving nearby.
