Charrua Soccer - Pro Edition strips the sport down to its most active moments and plays them out in a cartoon style. You get friendly matches, penalty shootouts, tournaments, career mode, themed events and party tournaments. Career mode starts with an empty team you build and take through competitions. Themed events mix in unusual characters and rule sets, while party tournaments are aimed at groups playing together. The game covers men's, women's and mixed soccer, and includes fouls, free kicks, yellow and red cards, injuries and penalties alongside the shooting and passing options.
Playing together
Up to 4 players can share a session, competing against each other or teaming up in cooperative play across any game mode. Local multiplayer is the main route, and Remote Play Together lets friends join over a network connection. Two control schemes are available, so casual players and experienced ones can pick the layout that suits them. An assisted mode can be configured to help with actions or switched off entirely for a harder game.
Before you start
Formation, strategy and substitutions are part of the match, so expect to make decisions beyond controlling the ball. Passing covers short, long and through balls, while shots can be directed, controlled or lifted, with special moves such as Chilean kicks, scorpion kicks, scissors and pigeon headers available. Coins earned through play go to the store, where you can buy balls, flags, stadiums and cosmetics for players and teams, including hairstyles and costumes. The tournament list runs from the Charrua Tournament and domestic leagues through European, American and Asian cups, the Olymcharrua Cups, Global Cups including a 1930 retro edition, USA Leagues, Eurochamp League and Liberty Cup.
