What Blaston is
Blaston is a fast-paced PvP VR shooter from Resolution Games, set in a cyberpunk arena. The core idea is a slow-motion bullet-hell: shots hang in the air long enough to read them, so survival comes down to moving your whole body rather than twitch reactions. You duck, dodge, and weave around incoming fire while lining up your own shot, and the rule the game keeps repeating is simple — never stay still. Expect a physical session; it plays more like a tactical workout than a sit-down shooter.
How a group plays it together
Blaston is built around dueling other players online, so a group can pair off and run matches against each other. Each player picks up weapons, builds a loadout, and personalizes it with attachments — there are 24 attachment options across 8 weapon types — then takes that setup into the arena. Avatar and weapon skins let you give your character and arsenal a distinct look, which makes it easy to tell who is who when friends are trading fire. Player-hosted tournaments can be run in the Ozo Lounge, giving a group a structure for a longer session instead of one-off duels. A Blaston Spectator app is available for PC, so someone not in the headset can still follow the action.
What to know before starting
This is a VR game, so you need the hardware and space to move your body freely — the whole point is physical dodging, and standing still gets you hit. It is free-to-play, so everyone in the group can get in without a barrier. The game carries a Singleplayer tag alongside its PvP focus, and the store text does not describe co-op modes, so plan around taking each other on rather than playing as a team against the game. Expect a competitive, arcade-style pace with bullet-time dodging and first-person aiming; the skill comes from reading the slow-moving shots and repositioning constantly, not from holding a position.
