What BAJA: Edge of Control HD is
This is a remastered version of the off-road racer from 2008, originally released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The HD release brings crisper visuals, better textures, higher framerates, and improved shadows, lighting, and dust effects, with support for up to 4K resolution. The controls, user interface, and career start have been made more accessible than in the original.
The game covers more than 1,000 miles of terrain across nine open worlds, with steep mountains, thick mud, and deep canyons. There are more than 100 tracks spread over these landscapes, and races can last up to four hours. Alongside the structured events, you can free roam to find hidden tracks, jumps, and other off-road sections.
How your group plays together
Four players can race on one screen through split screen, and up to 16 players can compete online. Remote Play Together is supported, so someone can join over a shared session. The event list includes Hill Climb challenges, head-to-head Open Class races, circuit races, and the Baja endurance races.
Vehicles, damage, and physics
There are more than 160 sponsored vehicles across eight classes, including Trophy Trucks, 4x4s, and buggies. Over 200 authentic parts are available to tune each vehicle's performance, and parts affect how the machine handles.
The vehicle physics respond to every bump and rut on the surface. Damage is tracked in detail: fenders can come off, tires blow, suspension takes stress, and engines overheat. A support management system lets you monitor that damage and call in truck and helicopter teams to repair the vehicle during a run.
