A Spellcasting Roguelike in a Sealed Tower

Abandoned Archive is a fast-paced, 2D pixel-art action roguelike set in the tower "Turrim" in the country of Gratissia. You play as an exiled ex-scientist who has been sealed inside this long-forgotten archive. Your goal is to venture deep below ground floor by floor to uncover the dark secrets and synthetic horror stowed away at the base of the structure. The game features a wide variety of relics and a unique spell-upgrading system, with compelling bosses guarding your path. Each floor is filled with items and mysteries to discover, using procedural generation to keep the descent unpredictable.

Fighting with Magic and Relics

Combat revolves around mastering many schools of magic. You will battle using elements ranging from lightning and air to gravity and time. Becoming powerful requires careful synergy; you must choose upgrades wisely and collect rare relics that offer passive effects to combine with your finest abilities. The path downward is linear but dangerous, filled with PvE encounters where perma-death means a failed run sends you back to the start. Along the way, you will face engaging bosses that test the build you have assembled.

Descending with Oblome

You are not entirely alone in the tower. A strange, sentient Orb named Oblome the Orbite proposes a deal, claiming to be one with science. Tied to this pact, you must protect Oblome at any cost if danger arises, and in turn, he will protect you. Together, you forge onwards in an attempt to escape imprisonment and find the city of Orbites. As you explore fragments of a species' past, the ex-scientist guide offers protection while leaving many burning questions with answers hiding in the cracks of the archive.

Playing Together and Before You Start

While the core experience is a singleplayer dungeon crawler, the game supports local co-op and Remote Play Together, allowing friends to join the descent. Before starting, know that this is a dark fantasy title with perma-death mechanics, meaning progress is lost upon failure. The game is designed for controller use and includes a tutorial to help you learn the spell systems. Prepare to synergise your magic carefully, as the synthetic horror at the base of the archive awaits those who delve deep enough to decipher its mysteries.
