What Viking Squad is
Viking Squad is a three player co-op brawler set in a hand-drawn 2D world. You take the role of a ragtag Viking whose job is to stop Loki and reopen the gates to Valhalla. Combat is lane based: you move along set lanes and fight with a precise, intense system rather than free roaming. Each playable character carries a signature weapon, so the way you approach a fight changes depending on who you pick. Along the way you find new weapons and gear to level up each character.
Playing together
Viking Squad supports both local and online co-op, so you can sit on the couch with friends or find a match online. Remote Play Together is also available. The whole point is working together: combine your attacks to unleash massive hits on foes and expand your arsenal as a group. Worshipping different gods opens up new opportunities and new perils as your voyage continues, which gives each run its own shape.
Before you start
The game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up with a striking hand-drawn art style by Jesse 'The Drawbarian' Turner, sound by Power Up Audio, and music by A Shell In The Pit. Keep in mind the player count is capped at three, so a full lobby is three people. Pick your character with the signature weapon that suits how you want to fight, and expect the lane based system to reward timing and positioning over button mashing.
