What VIDEOBALL is

VIDEOBALL is a compact sport built from the mechanics of basketball, football, soccer, first-person shooters, and real-time strategy games. You move a character around an arena and fire triangles at balls. Only triangles can displace balls, so everything you do runs through that one action: aim, shoot, push. Balls get shoved into the opposing goal, and the team with more points wins. That is the whole loop, and it stays readable even when the arena fills up.

How a group plays it together

You can play locally with up to four players, and there is online play for exhibition or ranked matches in solo or team modes. Remote Play Together is supported, so friends who do not have the game can join your session. Controls are simple: either analog stick or the directional buttons to move, any button or trigger to project a triangle. Holding the button charges a bigger triangle, and bigger triangles push harder. Triangles also cancel other triangles and can stun opponents, which gives you a way to interrupt someone who is about to make a good shot.

Setting up your own match

Local play lets you adjust ball count, time limit, and point values, so you can design a rule set that suits your group — a short frantic round or a longer grind to a target score. Arenas, color palettes, music tracks, and backgrounds are customizable, so each session can look and sound different. Before you start, know that the game is deliberately minimal: there is no equipment to pick up and no complex build to learn, just movement, triangle pressure, and positioning. The skill comes from timing your charges, blocking passing lanes, and deciding when to stun instead of shoot.
