Penguins pulling off heists
The Greatest Penguin Heist of All Time is a physics-based sandbox game where you play a kleptomaniac penguin planning and executing heists. You pick your mission, pick a loadout, then work your way in, grab the goods, and get out. Missions range from stealing boats full of fish to lifting valuable works of art to kidnapping a prized chef. There are 20 very different heists to run, plus side quests and over 100 quests spread across the maps. Completion unlocks new weapons, tools, and items through blueprints you find by finishing quests or exploring, and the Library gives hints when a blueprint is hard to track down. Money you earn buys clothes in the clothing store, deliveries and unique items at the Post Office, and even property — you can buy land and a house and decorate it as you like.
Playing it with friends
Online co-op supports up to 8 players working through the same heist, so a Discord group can split roles, share loadouts, and argue over who carries the fish. The heist planner lets each player set a custom loadout before starting. Because the approach is open, one group might creep through silent while another goes loud with dynamite and a minigun — both are valid. For groups that want something other than a heist, there are alternative modes including pizza baking, zombie survival, and PvP. Daily challenges give you a reason to come back, and there are 100+ weapons and items, 100+ clothes and skins, and 20+ unique skins to work toward.
What to know before you start
This is a physics game with simulated joints on the penguins, so the controls are deliberately not snappy. Expect them to feel "janky" — that comes from the physics simulation, not from broken input. Intentionally awkward controls are part of the design, and the awkwardness is where a lot of the comedy lands: slap your friends with bananas and baguettes, lure guards with stinky fish, distort gravity and sprint past, or just fail a jump in a stupid way. Tools and guards interact through the physics, so creative solutions work as well as firepower. Whether you lean stealthy, non-lethal, or explosive chaos, the game keeps a challenge waiting.
