What OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood is
OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood is a 2D side-scrolling skateboarding game and the follow-up to OlliOlli. You play as the iconic skater, moved off the street and into cinematic, green-screen style locations across five new worlds. The levels are built around ramps and big hills that let you launch for serious air, and many of them are multi-route, so you can pick different lines through the same stage. There are 50 new Amateur and Pro levels plus 250 challenges to work through, alongside the returning Daily Grind, Spots Mode and RAD Mode. The difficulty tag is there for a reason: the game expects precision and rewards practice.
How the combo system works
The core of the game is stringing tricks together. The combo system has been expanded with manuals, reverts, revert manuals and grind switching, which gives you more ways to keep a run alive and more control over how you express a line. The Tricktionary also grows with new specials, including 540 Shove-its, Anti-Casper Flips and Darkslides. Learning when to land cleanly, when to link a grind into a manual, and how to carry that across a multi-route level is what the singleplayer is built around.
Playing together
Combo Rush is the local multiplayer mode: split-screen, up to four players, with four unique game modes to compete in. It runs on one screen, so a group sitting together can jump straight into a party format rather than coordinating online. Remote Play Together is also listed as a Steam feature, which lets people join in over a connection.
Before you start
Expect a game that takes repetition to get good at — the trick list is long, the levels are dense with challenges, and clean landings matter. The soundtrack is a big part of the package, with an extended tracklist featuring Cid Rim, Lone, Faulty DL, Submerse and Mike Slott. If your group wants something to play side by side on one screen, Combo Rush is the mode to load up first; if you want to chase levels and challenges on your own, the singleplayer campaign is where the depth sits.
