A Story-Driven Ninja Fighter

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 is the latest entry in the STORM series from CyberConnect2 Co. Ltd. It sits in the Action and Adventure genres and leans heavily into fighting, with a story-rich presentation covering the NARUTO SHIPPUDEN material. You move through the game as a ninja in third person and take part in fights built on a battle system that the series describes as totally revamped compared with earlier entries. Expect colourful, large-scale encounters rather than a plain arena fighter: the presentation is aimed at making each fight feel like a set piece.

Playing With Your Group

The game supports multiplayer through versus play, so two people can fight each other directly. On one machine you also have shared and split screen PvP, which means you can sit on the same couch and battle without needing a second setup. Steam Achievements and leaderboards give you something to chase after a session, and full controller support keeps the controls consistent if you pass the pad around. If your group is spread out, Remote Play Together lets others join in over a stream, and Remote Play also works to a phone, tablet or TV. Single-player is available when you want to play through the fights on your own.

Before You Start

Steam Cloud carries your saves between machines, so progress follows you if you switch to another computer. Family Sharing lets people on your account list play the game as well. The tags attached to the game mention co-op, so a group expecting cooperative play should check how the specific modes are set up before assuming everything is played side by side against each other. There is a single-player component alongside the versus options, so a mixed group where only some people want to fight each other still has something to do. Full controller support is listed, so a controller is the straightforward choice for local versus sessions.
