The 4th Great Ninja War as the main story
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM 3 Full Burst HD follows the 4th Great Ninja War through a long story campaign. You fight through large-scale battles and take on overpowering bosses, including the gargantuan Tailed Beasts, in encounters built around spectacle rather than a plain one-on-one duel. The roster is the series' most extensive, with characters such as Naruto in Tailed Beast mode, Madara and the Jinchurikis. Full Burst adds an extra chapter where Sasuke and Itachi take on Kabuto, plus revamped cinematics for the whole conflict.
Playing together with friends
Versus mode is where a group gets involved. You can fight each other offline on the same setup or take the fight online, and the Steam features list Online PvP and Remote Play Together, so friends can join in over the internet or watch along remotely. Kabuto is a new playable character in versus mode after reaching Sage mode, giving one more option to pick when you challenge each other. Matches are fast, movement-heavy ninja confrontations, so rounds are quick to restart when someone wants a rematch.
Extras worth knowing before you start
Full Burst layers a fair amount of content on top of the base campaign. There are 100 new missions, many with their own objectives, and 38 additional costumes pulled from the original DLC packs. The game is a remaster in HD of Ultimate Ninja STORM 3, so expect the structure of an older release with the added chapters and missions rather than a rebuilt system. It is a third-person action and fighting game with RPG and adventure elements, and the story mode is a singleplayer experience — the group play happens in versus. If your group wants both a long shared watch of the war storyline and quick competitive rounds afterward, this covers both.
