A Go board built for the long haul

Just Go puts a full Go (Weiqi/Baduk) board in front of you and walks you from absolute novice to top player. The rules are simple, but the patterns that grow out of them are deep, and the game leans into that rather than dressing it up. The board is rendered in realistic 4K, and the match history mode lets you replay notable games from the real world, including the DangHu games and AlphaGo vs Lee Sedol. When you are done playing, you can export any game as an SGF file to study later or share with someone else.

Getting into Go from scratch

If you have never played Go, the full-dubbing tutorial is where to start. It talks you through the game as you go instead of leaving you with a wall of text. After that, more than 30 AI difficulty levels give you room to grow — start at the bottom when you are learning the shapes, then climb as your reading gets sharper. Ranked games and leaderboards track where you land, backed by an ELO ranking system.

Playing with your group

Just Go supports local and online multiplayer through OGS and the Steam lobby, so you can challenge friends directly or take on strangers in ranked matches. Remote Play Together is available for sessions where one person owns the game and others join in. Turn-based play means nobody is rushing: each side places a stone, reads the board, and answers. That pace suits a group chat well — you can play a match while talking through moves, or run a few quick games and compare results. Character customization is there for making your profile your own before you sit down at the board.
