A dungeon brawler built for four

Gauntlet Slayer Edition is a top-down dungeon crawler where you fight through rooms packed with monsters, traps and bosses. You pick one of four classic heroes: Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf or Wizard. Each one has a distinct play style and its own skills, so a full party covers melee, ranged and magic between them. Levels are a mix of hand-built and randomly generated, which keeps the layout from getting stale on a second run. The goal is straightforward: push deeper, kill everything in the way, and come out with gold and loot.

Playing together

You can go through the dungeons alone or bring friends along in four-player co-op, both on the same screen and online. Remote Play Together is supported, so someone who owns the game can invite others to join from their own machine. Inside the party it is not purely cooperative: players compete for the most kills and the most gold, so the scoreboard turns friendly fire into a running rivalry. Loot is shared in the sense that everyone is hunting the same treasure, and the person who grabs the most of it wins that particular bragging right.

Relics, traps and ways to die

Scouring the dungeons turns up gold and loot that unlock Relics, items granting powerful new abilities. Relics cut both ways: use one at the wrong moment and it hurts your own party, so timing and communication matter more than raw damage. Death comes from many directions here. Fiendish traps sit in the floor, hordes keep pouring in, bosses hit hard, and your own teammates can be the reason a run falls apart. Expect to die in ways that are more confusing than fair, then regroup and try again.

Before you start

This is arcade-style action with simple, streamlined controls rather than deep mechanical systems, so a group can pick it up quickly and still find challenge in the later dungeons. It suits a group that wants short, repeatable sessions where everyone mashes through enemies together and argues over who carried the run. Decide up front whether you are playing seriously for completion or just racing each other for kills, since those two mindsets produce very different evenings.
