What diorama is

diorama is a decorating game where you place furniture and decorative pieces into a small scene you build yourself. The store text puts it plainly: no thoughts, just head empty and decorate. There are around 1000 decorative pieces to work with, and most furniture can be customized and freely expanded or resized. You can change both the weather and the time of day to shift the atmosphere of your diorama, and most furniture is interactable — squishable included. You can also drag and drop your own sprites into the game as custom furniture, and there is bubble wrap to pop. There are no beds.

Playing it with friends

The game lists Online Co-op as a Steam feature, and the store text mentions inviting friends to help you decorate your diorama. The developer notes that the game is not guaranteed to actually ship with friends and that they are still working on it, so treat the co-op side as something being built rather than a finished promise. When you do play together, the shared work is the point: you place pieces, adjust them, and shape the same scene between you.

Controls and things to know before starting

WASD or the arrow keys move you around your diorama. The left mouse button places furniture anywhere you like, the right mouse button customizes most furniture by changing their colour, and the middle mouse button copies any selected furniture. R flips or mirrors furniture, which helps with pieces that are not symmetric. F opens a search so you can find furniture by typing names or keywords, and E hides the interface when you want a clean look at what you have built.

Keep expectations modest: the developer says this is just another decorating game where all you do is place stuff, and the decor counter is admittedly a guess. What you get is a casual, colorful, top-down sandbox for putting things down and rearranging them until the scene feels right.
