What Deadswitch Combat is
Deadswitch Combat is a fast-paced 2D multiplayer shooter from Wilkin Games, still in Early Access. You move through side-scrolling maps, pick a loadout, and fight other players online. Progression runs on XP earned from kills, objectives, and challenges, and each rank unlocks more weapons, attachments, equipment, and vehicles. Alongside the competitive side there are Operations, which are objective-based missions with varying difficulty, and Survival modes where you hold out against endless waves of soldiers, helicopters, zombies, and other creatures, with scores submitted to worldwide leaderboards.
Playing it as a group
Your group can queue into team-based game modes together online, or take on Operations and Survival side by side. Ranked matches, multiplayer clans, and custom games are available for groups that want to compete against other organized teams, and dedicated multiplayer servers keep matches running. If someone wants to practice before joining the group, local games against bots are an option. Co-op and PvP are both supported, so a group can split between fighting the game and fighting each other.
Weapons, characters, and vehicles
There are over 200 weapons to personalize with optics, lasers, grips, skins, and other accessories, plus a massive selection of attachments, equipment, and skins overall. Characters, loadouts, and vehicles are fully customizable too, and vehicles can be unlocked through progression and brought into combat. Expect a lot of time spent in menus tuning loadouts before a session, since the range of options is one of the main parts of the game.
Making your own content
The in-game editor lets you build your own maps and missions and play them with friends online right away. Creations can be shared or browsed through the Workshop, and the game is described as mod-friendly. Since it is in Early Access, expect things to change as development continues.
